Last week I went on a short hike (a very short hike) up a steep trail to the most amazing view! This was only the second time I made this short trek. The first time was last fall. And I am only a few short minutes from here. I really don't know why I don't go there more often. Although, the fact that it is called Blow Me Down Hill may give you some ideas. The wind actually started to pick up a bit while I was there. It is open to Trinity Bay but what you can see is well worth the breeze. This short hike/adventure only took me a little over an hour. The hike itself was only a few very short minutes. I spent most of my time taking pictures and just sitting on a rock breathing in the sights and sounds along with the fresh air.
I am including a few screen shots from Google Maps to show you where I am and a little red X to show you the approximate location of where the hill is. But you can do a search yourself if you like. I must stress that this isn't a place for kids. There are cliffs all around and not always noticeable. I stuck to the middle area of the hill because I was by myself. A local group in the area are planning on putting some signs up around there for warnings, like the one you will see below.
It's great to be somewhere that you feel free from all of the negativity and hatred and worries of the world. To feel rested and exhilarated at the same time. Just you and nature. In your own little world it seems so remote, yet you are a few steps from civilization. Well, what we call civilization anyway. We have to drive 45 minutes to do major grocery shopping and its two hours to the nearest major city and airport. It's a bit of give and take I guess. But I will take these views any day. Although my husband and I had a mini vacation to the big city last month and of course I took a few pictures there. Usually we only go there for appointments and have one of both kids with us, but this time it was just us and just for fun. I'll share some pictures soon. I have lots of pictures to share actually. Such a changing landscape in my little world. So much ice in the harbour at times this spring. I am going to push myself to write more, even if that makes for short blog posts. But I will include many photos. You can find some of my photos on Instagram by clicking here.
I have been continuing on with my #50BookPledge. I am on book number 21 for the year and will have it finished later today or tomorrow. I am pretty positive I will reach my 50 book mark at the end of the year. Last year I read 25 books and I am almost at that already. I'll be sharing what books I have read since this blog post here in an upcoming post later this month. Spring is finally here! Now that it's almost summer. LOL The kids will soon be out of school and we can spend more time relaxing and adventuring as a family. Oh, that #100DayProject I started? Well, I got to about day 14. Oh well. There is only so much time in a day. Onward and upward. Oh that sun is bright this morning! Beautiful!! So, what about you? Have you read any good (or bad) books lately? Have any summer plans? Feel free to share by commenting below. Is there anything you would like to know about me or where I live? Ask away! You can email me as well if you don't feel like commenting. Until next time, I hope you enjoyed the view from where I am...
