Every time you go camping, it's almost always a given that you will forget to bring something, or something will get left behind. EVERY SINGLE TIME for me!!
Picture this! That moment when I realized I had left my DSLR camera back at our camper....our camper that was a hour and a half away (one way). Too far away to just drive back and get it. Well; crap. CRAP! CRAP!! CRAP!!! I had a sickly feeling in my stomach for the rest of that evening. But that also may have been the after effects of the migraine I had plus migraine medication plus the heat that day. It almost felt like the time my daughter spilled milk on my (old) laptop and I realized I had lost photos that weren't backed up. Of course the zombie apocalypse side of me was thinking that I had left it outside on the ground where a fire breathing Pokemon will have found it. And, well, you can see how that would turn out, right!
I Can't Live, If Living Is Without You....
So, of course I was moping around like a Gloomy Gus, hence the storm cloud photo above. The melancholy in me was singing sad songs I listened to in the 80s. Not out loud of course! "I can't live, if living is without you. I can't give, I can't give anymore!"
I'm All Out Of Love....
Then I was singing, "I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you.......I'm all out of love, what am I without you..." Yes, I can be a tad bit overly dramatic at times. But I was freaking out! No camera for a week. A full week! Plus, there were photos on my memory card that I wanted to use in my blog post. Woe is me, right. Then I hopped on the treadmill that same evening and was listening to some music when "Let It Go" played. Yes I listen to Let it Go from the Frozen movie. There is constantly some song or another popping into my head.
Let It Go....
Just let it go. LOL Not the end of the world right. I'm still me. I'm still alive and breathing. I can still write; and I have other means of taking photos. It's not always about getting the perfect picture anyway. It's about taking a picture that takes you to a place or time. A picture that makes you feel. Like I felt when I woke up last Saturday morning in the camper and opened up the window. It was so peaceful. All I could hear was the winds blowing through the trees, birds singing, the occasional bee buzzing and squirrels chattering. Friday night, however, was a different story when all I could hear when I was trying to sleep was a mosquito in my ear. AHHH!!
The pictures above were taken with my iPod Touch 6.
- We went to a nearby store for an ice cream last Saturday while camping. Beautiful blue sky because it was a beautiful, sunny summer day.
- Or was it? This picture shows the sky looking the other way.
- Made it back to the camper with about 10 minutes to spare. The rain moved through pretty quickly though.
- Rainbow after the rain. The light you see in the clouds is just a reflection of the lights inside the camper.
- This is the book I spent all Saturday reading; and finished. Loved the ending!
- This is a picture I took Sunday morning of two lonely Froot Loops left in the bowl. LOL I think, now, that it was an omen of my sad face later that evening when I couldn't find my camera. Haha!
Yesterday afternoon was beautiful so I went for a short walk and took a few more pictures (with my iPod).
I swear, I have no idea where that Pokemon came from!!
And so, I have gotten over the fact that I will be without my camera for a few more days. Sniff, sniff. Well, kind of. I'm sure when I get it back I'll be singing (in my head) "Reunited and it feels so good." or "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. LOL And I'm glad I wrote this blog post anyway. Heck, some of you might have missed me right? Right?? What's your ""go to" song when you're happy, or sad, or mad, or glad? Or a song you sing just because? Thanks again for dropping by to take a peek at the view from where I am...
